Matt Clarkson: Experienced J2EE Architect

Welcome

Welcome to my modest website, the aim of which is simply to post my CV. and a few links to things I'm interested in. As of 14th August 2006, I will be a consultant J2EE programmer and software architect in London, so any offers for relevant work will be gratefully received. Please refer to my CV. for the finer details of my experience.

I gained my PhD. in medical image processing from King's College London in June 2000, and have since worked in a variety of software development roles including senior developer, team lead and technical architect. I'm a Sun Certified Java Programmer and Web Component Developer. I have particular interests in design patterns, refactoring, agile methodology and lightweight POJO development using products such as Spring and Hibernate.

Specialities

From a technical perspective, I am best employed as a Senior Java or J2EE programmer. I can work alone, or in teams, work to specs (verbal or written) or develop prototypes. 2006 will see me develop my C# or Swing skills.

From a business perspective, I have a variety of experience in equity and equity derivatives with exposure to front and middle office roles. This year I will be continuing to develop my program trading knowledge.

Interests

I won't bore you with a blog. Why not read the sort of stuff I like reading. I regularly visit: The Server Side, InfoQ, Spring Framework and Ruby on Rails amongst many others.
