Peterborough Cycling Club prize winners The Peterborough Cycling Club recently honoured its prize winners for 2006, at its annual prize presentation, once again held at Deafblind UK headquarters at Hampton. The event was again a great success, with the bulk of the awards being carried off by road race champion Brett Harwood and time trial champion Andrew Alexander. Other winners included, John French, Dave Yarham, Malcolm Church, Matt Clarkson, Simon Turner and Jeremy Harrison. The Club is also pleased to announce it now has a Clubroom. There will be a club night every Monday, commencing 5th February. It is at the Paston Scout rooms, situated at the junction of Lincoln Road and Mounsteven Avenue. The first meeting will be on 5th February from 19:30 onwards and is open to all club members and those interested in joining, as well as anyone wanting to find out what cycling is all about. So come along and see what the Peterborough Cycling Club has to offer.

Saturday Chaingang It's January and that means upping the training, so why not come and join in on the Saturday chaingang around Helpston. We meet at 10.30am opposite the shop in Helpston. The training can be fast and furious but we will be starting with 2 or 3 groups according to ability, so come and give it a go. |

Marshalls The club has committed to running a round of the NCRA handicap road race series on March 24th at Glapthorn. This is a series that the club has always done well in and wishes to support. We will need about 12 marshalls, plus judges and drivers. Could everyone who will be available to help, please let Ian Wild, or any committee member, know asap. |

Date change Please note that the dates of the Oxford-Cambridge charity ride and the Roadman's hill climb have swapped ie. the Roadman's hill climb is now on September 23rd and the Oxford-Cambridge is now on September 30th. |

Membership The 2007 club membership cards will be issued soon, so please make sure that you have paid your subs - £15 for membership and an additional £15 if you plan to race, which covers all the club events. Please note that this race fee is very important as it covers insurance and without it neither you nor the club will be covered and therefore the club cannot let you take part. Any non members wishing to guest in club events will have to pay a £2 fee for that event which will make them a temporary member for the duration of the event. |
